Acceptable Use and Prohibited Apps

This policy applies to everyone: developers publishing apps, and people using them. It is part of the Terms of Use and the Developer Publishing Agreement. Breaking it is grounds for removing an app, ending access, or closing an account.

Prohibited apps

Do not publish an app that:

• contains malware, spyware, cryptominers, or any code whose purpose is hidden from the person running it;
• steals credentials, payment details or session tokens, or phishes for them;
• tries to escape the platform shell, unregister or replace the platform service worker, cache itself for offline boot, or otherwise bypass the subscription gateway;
• attacks other systems — scanning, denial of service, credential stuffing, botnet control — or exists to help someone else do so;
• promises something it does not do, hides what it charges for, or makes cancelling harder than subscribing;
• contains sexual content involving minors, or content that sexualises minors in any form. This is reported to the authorities, not just removed;
• contains non-consensual intimate imagery, or content produced to harass, threaten, or dox a specific person;
• promotes terrorism or violent extremism, or incites violence against people or groups;
• sells weapons, controlled substances, stolen data, forged documents, or anything else whose sale is unlawful;
• collects personal data beyond what it plainly needs, or shares it without the user knowing.

Prohibited use

Do not use an app on zlarp, or zlarp itself, to:

• break the law, anywhere it applies to you;
• deceive people — including fraud and generating content presented as someone else's;
• harm or harass others, or process content that does;
• access an app you have no active subscription to, share credentials to get around one, or resell access licensed to you personally;
• probe, scan, disrupt or overload the platform or the apps hosted on it, or scrape the marketplace at scale.

Good-faith security research on the platform is welcome and is not a violation, provided you report what you find through Report abuse or a security problem before disclosing it, do not access other people's data, and do not degrade the service for anyone else.

Adult content

zlarp does not currently host apps whose primary purpose is pornography. This is a product decision rather than a moral one — we do not yet have age verification, and shipping adult content without it would be irresponsible. Apps that include incidental mature themes are fine if they are labelled honestly in the listing.

What happens when this is broken

Depending on severity we may flag the listing while we look at it, remove it, suspend the app, end an account's access, withhold a payout tied to the violation, or report the matter to the authorities. Anything involving child sexual abuse material, credible threats, or active malware is actioned immediately and without notice.

Anyone can report a violation from an app's page or at Report abuse or a security problem. You do not need an account to report something.
