How we make sure it's 1:1

Every app is made in house by our own developers. They come from all sorts of backgrounds, and they've spent real time using the apps they rebuild. So they don't just know what an app looks like, they know how it should feel and behave when you use it.

They work with the best tools out there, backed by automated checks that catch the tiny details a person could miss.

Before zlarp launched, we put the time in on our core apps. We went over every screen, again and again, until every detail was exactly right.

Every app starts with the real one, running on a real phone. We capture every screen and every state, and build from that. Colours are sampled from the actual pixels, and sizes and positions are read from the layout the phone reports.

Then we lay our version over the original. Anything that doesn't line up lights up in red, and we keep going until there's nothing left to fix. Animations get the same treatment, recorded frame by frame, so a swipe or a chart moves exactly the way it should.

We have a small team of testers who do one thing: put our version and the real one side by side and try to tell them apart. If they can, that's a problem.

Whenever they find something, they write it up in detail and hand it to the developers, and it gets fixed.

Real apps change their look all the time, and a copy that falls behind stops being convincing. When a real app ships a new design, we usually have ours matching it within 24 hours.

That's only possible because of our testers. They spot the change, tell the developers exactly what moved, and the update goes out while it's still new.
